Tottenham Hotspur to Win and Over 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Tottenham have won eight of their last nine matches against Brighton in north London and should be too strong for the Seagulls once more. Albion have failed to win any of their last five Premier League away matches whilst Spurs are on a four-match winning streak in the league. Over 2.5 goals has been a winning bet in all but one of Tottenham’s last 14 league matches and that outcome should be combined with a win for the hosts to boost the odds.

13/10odds when tipped

Tottenham Hotspur 2-1

Reason for tip

Both teams to score has been a winning bet in 13 of Spurs’ last 14 Premier League home matches, so it is not a huge reach to expect Brighton, who scored four against the Lilywhites in the reverse fixture, to find the net in north London on Saturday, even if they go on to lose the tie.

Richarlison To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Richarlison has led the line brilliantly for Spurs recently, scoring nine times in his last ten matches, and could be set to continue his fine form against a Brighton side that has looked shaky defensively in recent outings, notably when conceding four to relegation candidates Luton in their last away game.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Brighton Predictions

  • Tottenham’s last five matches have all featured four or more goals with both sides finding the net
  • Brighton have failed to win any of their last five league matches, losing 4-0 to Luton in their last road game
  • Spurs have won eight of their last nine home matches against the Seagulls

Spurs set to be too strong for Seagulls

Tottenham will be looking to shake off any disappointment suffered due to Jarrad Branthwaite’s late equaliser in their 2-2 draw to Everton last weekend as soon as possible and they have a good chance to do so against Brighton this Saturday.

Spurs have won eight of their last nine home matches against the Seagulls and their only home loss in six games came against reigning champions Manchester City in the FA Cup, suggesting Ange Postecoglou’s side will brush aside the challenge of Roberto De Zerbi’s men this weekend.

Tottenham’s ongoing four-match winning streak at home in the Premier League began with an exceptional 4-1 victory over Newcastle and has also included impressive wins over in-form sides Everton and Bournemouth, with that impressive run set to continue against a Brighton team that has struggled on the road of late.

Albion’s away woes to continue

De Zerbi’s side are winless in their last five matches, losing three in that run, as well as their last five trips to London and they may be about to come undone in the capital again.

Brighton were embarrassingly thrashed 4-0 by Premier League newcomers Luton on their last away day and, facing a side who are strong at home at a stadium where the Seagulls have won only once, another defeat looks likely.

They have conceded 25 goals in their 11 league away games this term, keeping a clean sheet in just one of their road matches, and those defensive frailties could leave them exposed against a potent Tottenham attack.

Expect excitement as two entertainers clash in the capital

Spurs have scored 24 goals in their last ten Premier League matches and they could score at least a couple more against Brighton.

Richarlison has scored nine goals in his last ten matches and could help bring up the goals total, as could Tottenham skipper Heung-Min Son who should feature after South Korea’s surprise exit from the Asian Cup at the hands of Jordan.

Considering over 2.5 goals has been a winning bet in all but one of Spurs’ last 14 Premier League matches it could be worth backing the same outcome alongside a home win on Saturday, especially as Brighton could also add to the total.

The two sides shared six goals in the reverse fixture and, given that both teams have scored in nine of Tottenham’s last ten home matches in the league, plenty of net-bulging action should be expected again.
