UD Ibiza vs Real Zaragoza Predictions
- Zaragoza have drawn a league-high 13 games this season, including each of their last two.
- Although Ibiza have won their last two league matches, they have not won a single game against top-half opponents all season.
- These two teams drew 0-0 back on the opening day of the campaign.
Draw-specialists Zaragoza on barren run
Real Zaragoza have drawn a league-high 13 of their 24 games in the Spanish Segunda Division this term, including goalless stalemates in each of their last two. However, Los Blanquillos have now gone five games without registering as much as a goal, let alone a win.
They drew 0-0 with Ibiza back on the opening day in August, and should travel to the party island hopeful of claiming a result, despite their recent malaise. Although Ibiza have won their last two league games, netting an incredible 11 goals in the process, those results came against mid-table Malaga and a dreadful Alcorcon team which continues to prop up the rest of Spain’s second tier.
Indeed, Ibiza might only sit three places and four points from the promotion play-off places, but they have adopted a reputation as flat-track bullies this term; Ibiza have not managed a single win against any of the teams currently sat in the top half of the division, drawing five and losing five of their 10 encounters with fellow top-half teams this season.
Another Zaragoza stalemate looks worth a punt
Although Zaragoza’s failure to turn draws into wins has left them twice as close to the relegation places as they are to the play-offs, only three teams, all of whom currently occupy play-off spots, have conceded fewer than their 23 goals in 24 outings this season, and even an out-of-shape Zaragoza should be expected to put up a better fight than Ibiza’s last two league opponents.
With that in mind, Zaragoza could be worth backing to secure yet another draw, with Ibiza also having racked up 10 stalemates of their own this season. A repeat of their earlier goalless draw could be a decent correct score prediction, given the visitors’ lacklustre attacking return.
