Open contest expected

After losing their opening two matches in this season’s Nations League, including a 3-2 defeat against the Czech Republic in Prague, Ukraine got off the mark with Friday’s win over Georgia.

That 1-0 success means the Blue and Yellow have now scored in six of their last eight games, while over 2.5 goals have been netted in eight of their previous 11 internationals.

The Czech Republic also tend to be involved in entertaining contests, with both teams having netted in nine of their last 10 matches, while Ivan Hasek’s side have themselves struck in 13 straight games, a run that dates back a full calendar year.

Difficult to separate two sides

Ukraine may be playing their home matches on neutral territory at the moment, but they have only lost one of their last 12 designated home fixtures, scoring in 10 of those.

They will fancy their chances of avoiding defeat against the Czechs, who won last month’s reverse meeting 3-2, but in the six previous clashes between the pair, they have each won twice apiece and there have been two draws.

It is hard to call a winner in this game, but goals at both ends should be guaranteed and it would be no surprise to see it end in a high-scoring 2-2 draw.
