Valencia to Win

Reason for tip

Valencia are beginning to pick up form under new boss Carlos Corberan, who has lost just one of his four games at the helm, whereas Real Sociedad are on a run of two defeats in three on the road.

Valencia 1-0

Reason for tip

Valencia have kept two clean sheets in their last three outings and scored exactly once in their last couple of La Liga fixtures. Real Sociedad have failed to score in two of their last three on the road, including a 1-0 reversal to Athletic Bilbao.

Valencia vs Real Sociedad Predictions

  • Valencia have drawn three of their last four league matches
  • Real Sociedad have lost two of their last three on the road in La Liga
  • The hosts are on a run of one defeat in six

Could Valencia end long wait for a win?

It has been a pitiful season for Valencia, who remain bottom of La Liga and have picked up just 13 points from their 19 matches so far this season.

However, things have improved of late, with three of their last four matches ending all square.

Those draws came against Alaves, Sevilla and Espanyol, while they were beaten by high-flying Real Madrid.

On top of that, new boss Carlos Corberan has also enjoyed a couple of victories, albeit against lower league sides in the Copa del Rey, but those success against Eldense and Ourense add some much-needed confidence.

Sociedad have had a couple of defeats

That form might worry visitors Real Sociedad, who have recently lost league matches away to Athletic Bilbao (1-0) and Celta Vigo (2-0).

Indeed, the White and Blues have only won four of their nine top flight fixtures on the road this season, a run that includes draws at Getafe and Real Valladolid.

And while they too reached the cup quarter finals in midweek, there have been wobbles of late, such as a goalless stalemate with Las Palmas.

Carlos Corberan is beginning to have an impact at the Mestalla, so I predict that Valencia will win this game, with 1-0 my correct score prediction.
