Valladolid vs Las Palmas Predictions
- Valladolid have lost their last six games.
- Las Palmas are winless in eight.
- Both teams have scored in six of Las Palmas’ last seven games.
Struggling pair clash in La Liga
Two relegation-threatened teams clash in La Liga on Friday night as rock bottom Valladolid entertain Las Palmas, who occupy the final safe spot.
Unsurprisingly, both of these teams come into the game in woeful form. Valladolid are on a six-game losing run and Las Palmas have dropped towards the bottom three after a run of just one point in their last seven games – and they are winless in eight across all competitions.
I have a feeling that the spoils could be shared here but with both defences in terrible form backing both teams to score looks a good starting point.
There have been goals at both ends in six of Las Palmas’ last seven games and they have gone eight without a clean sheet themselves, while they have managed just two shut-outs in their last 16 games going back further.
Valladolid have scored in six of their last nine home games and they should be able to find a way through against a vulnerable Las Palmas defence. They’ve only managed two clean sheets themselves during that nine game run, so goals at both ends looks likely.
The hosts are eight points adrift of safety and with Las Palmas the team in the final safe spot a win would be huge here. The visitors are in poor form but they still look a level above their hosts, however, and would probably view a point as a reasonably positive result in the circumstances, so a 1-1 draw is the correct score prediction.
