      Vejle vs Agf Predictions

Vejle have had a smooth transition in the Superliga so far, picking up four points from their first two matches. They put that strong start to the test this week, as they host AGF Aarhus, a side who are likely to be among the relegation contenders come the close of the season. Can the newly promoted hosts boost their chances of avoiding the drop by claiming all three points on Monday night, to continue their unbeaten start to the new campaign? Or will this be a key away victory for AGF?

The visitors could do with a win after taking two points from two games so far. They have made a solid start, avoiding defeat against champions Midtjylland and Nordsjaelland, but going from that to dominating a game is going to be tricky. They won’t fancy this visit to Vejle, who kicked off the campaign with a 3-1 home win, before drawing 1-1 at last season’s runners-up Brondby. Can the Superliga newcomers carry on that form here, or is their momentum about to hit a brick wall?

While they’ll see hosting a side like AGF as an opportunity to build on their opening home win, this game is a tricky one. Although the visitors didn’t have the greatest of records on the road last term, they did rely on results on their travels. They picked up 54% of their points last season away from home, while they scored 60% of their total goals from matches on the road. Can they return to that kind of form on Monday, or will their wait for a victory continue?

We do expect the visitors to find the net here, after averaging 1.3 goals per game on their travels last season. They finished last season by scoring 11 times in four away trips, and this seems like a great chance to return to that kind of form. After all, while Vejle have started the campaign well, they’re still without a clean sheet in the top flight so far.

The issue for the visitors is that they conceded over half of their goals on the road last term too. They let in 1.44 per game away from home, and with Vejle making a strong start they should be able to take advantage of that defence. We expect the hosts to fire in front of their own fans, but the visitors should hit the back of the net. We think both teams to score is the bet here, having landed in their previous three meetings at this ground.
