Venezia vs Roma Predictions

Tough time for both sides lately

It’s been a somewhat mixed start for Venezia in their return to the top flight of Italian football. They’ve lost just two of their last six Serie A matches and ended last weekend outside of the relegation zone. They’ve scored just once in all four home games this season but perhaps they can get more joy against a visiting Roma side who were in action on Thursday night.

Jose Mourinho made a fine start to life as Roma boss, but things have gotten a little bit more difficult and they’ve had some disappointing results. After getting hammered 6-1 away to Bodø/Glimt last month, they then drew 2-2 at home to the Norwegian’s during the week. It’s not been plain sailing for them in the league either as they have lost four of their opening 11 Serie A games for the first time since 2012/13.

Goals at both ends

Roma are an extremely attacking side but they have shown vulnerabilities defensively. Mourinho’s men look much more solid on home soil than they do away, and with Venezia managing to score in all of their home games, we fancy both teams to get on the scoresheet here with the visitors scraping a 2-1 win.
