Verona Double Chance (Win or Draw)

Reason for tip

Verona lost only four of their final 14 home league games last season and they meet a Juventus side who have failed to win any of their last eight away league games. Verona have lost only one of their last five meetings at home to Juve, so back them to avoid defeat.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Six of Juve’s last eight games have finished level, so take a score draw against a Verona side who have seen eight of their last 11 at home feature both teams scoring.

Verona vs Juventus Predictions

  • Verona lost only four of their final 14 home league games last season
  • Juventus have failed to win any of their last eight away league games
  • Verona have lost only one of their last five meetings at home to Juve

Old Lady may be frustrated

Verona and Juventus both kickstarted their Serie A season off in style, recording emphatic 3-0 victories, although there may be more substance behind the opening weekend form of the hosts.

A sensational second-half performance from Verona saw them score three times, twice from substitute Daniel Mosquera, against Napoli and there was seemingly no fluke about the result.

More is evidently required to stifle Juventus, who won by the same scoreline hosting newly-promoted Como, but they may be up to the task.

Verona finished only 13th in Serie A last season but they lost only four of their final 14 home games, which included holding Lazio, Juventus and champions Inter to draws.

Stubborn hosts can offer stiff resistance

That shows their capabilities on their own patch and they may be up to frustrating the Old Lady, who failed to win any of their last eight away matches in Serie A last season.

The appointment of Thiago Motta may improve that treacherous road record but they still have it hanging over them and, despite strengthening their midfield with the arrivals of Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa and Nice’s Khephren Thuram, they make little appeal at odds-on.

Verona have lost only one of their last five home league meetings with the Old Lady, so make appeal in the double-chance market, with correct-score punters advised to go with the 1-1 draw.
