Real Madrid needed penalties to see off Atletico Madrid in Wednesday’s Champions League nerve-shredding success and tiredness might be an issue but they are still the best bet away at Villarreal on Saturday.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side visit Estadio de la Ceramica to face Marcelino Garcia Toral’s team and need the points to stay in the title race.

They are second in the league, three places and 13 points above Villarreal, with 17 wins, six draws and four losses from their 27 games this season. The hosts are in fifth, having won 12, drawn eight and lost six.

Real Madrid have shipped 14 goals on the road in the league this season, which is a fairly solid record of one goal conceded per game from their 14 matches.

Real Madrid will be expecting to get on the scoresheet, having scored three goals or more in ten of their 27 league games this season. They have also averaged 1.50 goals a game in their six away matches against other top-half teams.

Real Madrid to win away 2-0 looks a decent correct-score bet. Five of their 17 league wins this season were by a 2-0 scoreline, and two of Villarreal’s six league defeats have been in the same manner.
