Wehen Wiesbaden vs Stuttgart Predictions
- Stuttgart have won only three of their 12 away games this season, sharing the spoils on five occasions
- Wehen Wiesbaden have take points from five of the division’s top-six this season, which includes a 2-1 win at Stuttgart earlier in the season
- Seven of Wehen’s last eight home games have featured two or fewer goals
Stuttgart’s title credentials on the line
The bookmakers believe Stuttgart are the team most likely to serve it up to Arminia Bielefeld in the Bundesliga 2 title race but they look on the short side for their trip to Wehen Wiesbaden, who stunned Die Roten 2-1 at Mercedes-Benz Arena earlier in the season.
Stuttgart, who are seeking an immediate return to the German top-flight, have six points to make up on leaders Arminia but their form on the road will need to improve if they are to challenge for title supremacy.
Thomas Hitzlsperger’s men have been brilliant when armed with home advantage but it has been a different story on their travels, where they have won just three of 12 away fixtures. In fact, only eight teams have collected fewer points on the road and just six have scored fewer.
Wehen capable of matching league’s elite
Despite sitting third from bottom and just one point above the relegation places, Wehen Wiesbaden have picked up positive results against Stuttgart, Hamburg, Heidenhem, Greuther Furth and Darmstadt – five of the division’s top six – this season.
The latter four of those opponents were all held to draws on their trips to the Brita-Arena and Stutgart, who have shared the spoils in five of their 12 away games, could be another big-gun rueing at their missed opportunity.
Opt for a low-scoring draw
Seven of Wehen’s last eight home games have featured two or fewer goals and another low-scoring clash looks on the cards against a Stuttgart side who often take some time to get going on the road.
The visitors have scored just three first-half goals in 12 away games, with each of their last four contests goalless at the break.
Hamburg, third, and fifth-placed Greuther Furth have had to settle for 1-1 stalemates in Hesse and a similar scenario could play out against Stuttgart, who have drawn three of their last five on the move – two of which were 1-1.
