Baggies look to push on to play-offs

West Brom should be backed to beat Watford at home in the Championship on Saturday. The visitors have lost their last two away games and West Brom manager Tony Mowbray will be keen to get one over on his opposite number, Tom Cleverley as both teams look to keep their play-off qualification dreams alive

West Brom are eighth in the Championship, two places and one point ahead of Watford. West Brom have won 13 of their 41 games this season, while Watford have 16 wins.

West Brom have been impressive defensively at home this season, conceding just 13 goals in 20 Championship games – an average of 0.65 goals per game.

Watford have been in patchy form recently, with two wins, one draw and three defeats in their last six Championship games. The wins came against Hull and Swansea, but they also lost to Bristol City, Oxford and Millwall.

Their defence is a concern – they have conceded 34 goals away from home this season in the Championship – an average of 1.70 goals per game from 20 matches.

West Brom to win 1-0 looks a decent choice in the correct-score betting. Twelve of Watford’s 17 Championship defeats this season have been by a single goal and nine of West Brom’s last ten games have stayed under 2.5 goals.
