      West Bromwich Albion to Win

      Reason for tip

West Brom to win looks the best bet when they host Oxford on Saturday, with the visitors managing just one win in 16 away games this season.

      West Bromwich Albion 2-0

      Reason for tip

A 2-0 home win appeals as the correct-score pick. West Brom have won five of their last seven Championship home games, while Oxford have failed to score in three successive away matches.

West Bromwich Albion vs Oxford United Predictions

Baggies to heap pressure on Oxford

West Brom look the best bet at home to Oxford on Saturday. The visitors have been poor on the road this season, with just one win in 16 away games, while West Brom have won seven of their 16 matches at the Hawthorns.

The Baggies are sixth in the Championship, ten places and ten points above 16th-placed Oxford. The hosts have 11 wins, 15 draws and seven defeats this season, while the visitors, who were promoted from League One last season, have nine wins, 11 draws and 13 losses.

Oxford’s form is a concern. They drew 0-0 with Derby on their last Championship away day and then lost 2-0 to Portsmouth at the Kassam last weekend.

The U’s have been disappointing in front of goal away from home this season, scoring just 10 goals in 16 games – an average of 0.63 goals a game on the road – and failing to find the net in three successive Championship away games.

West Brom will be confident of scoring against a visiting defence which has failed to keep a clean sheet in four of their last six Championship games.

The Baggies have won five of their last seven Championship home games and, with four of their 11 successes this season coming by two goals, a 2-0 win for the hosts looks a decent correct-score option. Ten of Oxford’s last 11 matches have stayed under 2.5 goals.
