Baggies could turn things around

West Brom are in poor form but they might be the value bet to turn things around at home to Sunderland on Saturday.

Sunderland are two places above West Brom in the table with 15 points separating the teams. The hosts are sixth with 13 wins, 18 draws and eight losses, while Sunderland sit fourth with a record of 20-12-7.

West Brom lost 1-0 to Norwich last weekend in their last Championship game, suffering a narrow defeat as 21/10 outsiders to win. Albion had their chances and dominated the stats but didn’t make the most of their opportunities.

Sunderland’s recent form in the Championship has been up and down, with three wins, one draw and two defeats in their last six games. They beat Millwall, Cardiff City and Sheffield Wednesday, but also lost 1-0 to lowly Hull City.

The visitors have been leaking goals lately. Sunderland have conceded in each of their last four away games and have failed to keep a clean sheet in nine of their last 11 Championship matches.

West Brom have been winners in four of their last six Championship home games and may be able to edge out Sunderland. A 2-1 home win is the correct-score pick, with six of the visitors’ seven defeats coming by the odd goal.
