AFC Bournemouth to Win

Reason for tip

Bournemouth have been on a poor run but could turn it around against a West Ham side who have already lost eight home games this season. The Cherries are one of the best teams in the league on their travels and can pick up a crucial three points in the race for Europe.

West Ham United vs AFC Bournemouth Predictions

  • West Ham have lost eight of their 15 home games
  • Four of Bournemouth’s last six games have finished 2-1
  • Justin Kluivert has 12 league goals this term

Hammers struggling at home

Bournemouth have had a very impressive campaign but the wheels are in danger of falling off a touch after five losses and two draws from their last seven games in all competitions.

They have been unlucky with some of those results but if they want to keep alive any hopes of securing a first ever European berth, they need to turn things around against West Ham.

One big positive is that there are not many teams who could provide a better opportunity for a morale-boosting success than away to the Hammers.

Graham Potter managed to produce somewhat of a response after taking over, including a 1-0 win over Arsenal, but recent signs have been poor again. They have taken one point from their last three games and only found the net once.

Only four teams have netted fewer goals than the Hammers’ 33 and loan signing Evan Ferguson has failed to have the transformative impact that they had hoped.

West Ham have been poor at home all season too, losing eight of their 15 games at the Olympic Stadium.

In sharp contrast to that only the top three and Newcastle have picked up more points on the road than Bournemouth.

The Cherries have also won the expected goals battle in their last three league games despite taking just a solitary point from those fixtures.

With the return of key man Justin Kluivert from injury, they look a solid bet to deepen West Ham’s woes.

Tight affair likely

The hosts have lost eight of their last 13 games in all competitions and if it weren’t for the poor performances of the three promoted clubs, may be in serious danger of relegation.

The Hammers’ midfield in particular has lacked dynamism this season and that is a major issue against a Bournemouth side who are relentless both on and off the ball.

Side with the visitors to secure a crucial win in their battle for European football next season.

While the Cherries are fancied to win, there may not be much in it. Four of Bournemouth’s last six games have finished 2-1 and a repeat of that scoreline is the selection in an away win.

Justin Kluivert is the top scorer for Andoni Iraola’s men this season and as he returns from injury he could be worth taking to add to his tally of 12 goals for the season, particularly as he is the Cherries’ penalty taker.
