West Ham United vs West Bromwich Albion Predictions
- Both teams have scored in four of West Ham’s last five Premier League home games.
- Both teams have scored in each of West Brom’s last four Premier League away matches.
- West Ham have lost just two of their nine Premier League home games this season.
- WBA have won only one of their last nine away league assignments this term.
Hammers hoping to land another blow
A confident West Ham will be hoping to win their third Premier League game on the bounce when they host the Baggies, though West Brom’s set-piece potency threatens to produce goals at both ends at the London Stadium.
Michail Antonio scored his first Premier League goal since October to carry the Irons to victory against Burnley in their last outing, and their eventual slender win over the Clarets was their second 1-0 success in a row after West Ham’s impressive triumph at Everton.
The Hammers’ clean sheet was a hugely welcome one too following a run of four home games without one, though another shutout against WBA looks unlikely on Tuesday.
WBA enjoy derby day success
After a winless five match opening salvo, Sam Allardyce finally secured his first win as West Brom boss in Saturday’s Black Country Derby against Wolves.
Albion leaned heavily on their dead-ball expertise again to claw their way back into the game against Wanderers, and two spot-kicks from Matheus Pereira proved decisive at Molineux.
Goals at both ends likely
Albion’s spike in set-piece potency is straight out of the Big Sam playbook, and WBA’s ability to nick goals from corners and freekicks should allow them to notch against a West Ham defence that has kept just three clean sheets in nine home assignments this season.
The Baggies – who have conceded a whopping 15 times in five league games under Allardyce – look despairingly abject in their own penalty area however, and the hosts will expect to convert chances on Tuesday.
West Ham have scored in every single home game since their opening day blank at home to Newcastle last August, while their 0-2 reverse to the Magpies that afternoon is just one of two defeat in total suffered at the London Stadium so far this season alongside the Irons’ loss to Manchester United.
With that strong record pushing them on, West Ham are favoured to harness home advantage on Tuesday, and a 2-1 correct score prediction is advised alongside our both teams to score pick.
West Ham injuries and team news
Arthur Masuaku and Fabian Balbuena will both miss this week’s game through injury, though West Ham have few fitness worries elsewhere.
David Moyes could choose to name the same side that started the Irons’ 1-0 win over Burnley last time out.
West Bromwich Albion injuries and team news
Conor Townsend, Karlan Grant and Grady Diangana are all injured, while Sam Johnstone and Matt Phillips – who both tested positive for COVID-19 – are also out.
Conor Gallagher returns from suspension, while David Button is expected to continue between the sticks in Johnstone’s absence.
