      Wrexham to Win

      Reason for tip

Wrexham have won six of their last eight away games and sit 16 places above Wigan in the table. With 24 wins this season and strong recent form, including a 3-0 win over Burton, they look well placed to continue their push with another League One victory on Saturday.

      Wrexham 1-0

      Reason for tip

Wrexham’s solid away defence and Wigan’s lack of home goals suggest a low-scoring game. Sixteen of Wrexham’s 24 wins and 11 of Wigan’s 16 losses have been by one goal. A 1-0 win for the visitors aligns with both teams’ trends and is the preferred correct-score pick.

      Wigan vs Wrexham Predictions

Wrexham can extend good road run

Wrexham are in form on the road and they are worth backing to win away at Wigan on Saturday. Phil Parkinson’s side have been winners on six of their last eight League One away days and have only tasted defeat once in that time.

They are 16 places above Wigan in the table and have 35 more points than them. Wigan are 18th in League One with 11 wins and 16 losses, while Wrexham, who have won 24 games, are second.

Wrexham’s 3-0 win over Burton Albion was their sixth victory in eight League One games and they have now won 12 of the 16 matches in which they have been odds-on this season. They had more possession – 70.7% – than in any other game this season and have won 23 of the 29 games in which they’ve scored first.

Wrexham have been impressive defensively away from home this season, conceding just 18 goals – an average of 0.90 goals per game from 20 matches.

Wigan have struggled to find the back of the net at home this season, with just 18 goals in 20 games, while Wrexham have scored in seven of their last eight league matches, including a recent 3-0 win over Burton Albion.

A 1-0 Wrexham win looks on the cards. Sixteen of their 24 League One victories this season have come by a single goal and 11 of Wigan’s 16 defeats have also been by one goal.
