Wolverhampton vs Fulham Predictions
- Wolves are the leading scorers out of the Premier League’s bottom eight
- Fulham have scored in 14 consecutive away matches
- Matheus Cunha has marked each of his last four appearances with a goal
Two sides difficult to separate
Wolves secured an impressive and somewhat surprising 1-0 win away at Bournemouth on Saturday to boost their survival hopes and they will look to follow up against a Fulham side that suffered defeat at home to Crystal Palace on the same day.
That 2-0 loss to Palace brought a three-game winning streak to an end for the Cottagers across all competitions, but they have won four of their last five road fixtures and will certainly cause problems to their hosts on Tuesday.
Goals easier to predict than a winner
Picking a winner from this game may prove difficult but one thing that should be guaranteed is goals, with Wolves having netted in four of their last five Premier League games, while they are also the leading scorers of any team sitting in the bottom eight.
Fulham, meanwhile, have scored in each of their last 14 away matches and have netted exactly two goals in six road fixtures on the bounce.
With 13 goals having been scored across the last three meetings between these two sides – including five as Wolves claimed a 4-1 victory at Craven Cottage earlier this season – the likelihood of at least three more being struck on Tuesday appears high.
Couple that with Fulham’s knack of scoring two in recent away games, along with both sides being in decent form, and a 2-2 share of the spoils could offer plenty of appeal in the correct score market.
Cunha to deliver for Wolves again
It was no surprise to see Matheus Cunha score the only goal of the game in Wolves’ win at Bournemouth, as the Brazilian has been directly involved in 17 of his side’s 36 league goals this term, scoring 13 himself and providing a further four assists.
That strike at the Vitality Stadium also means Cunha has scored in each of his last four appearances across all competitions, while he also struck twice as Wolves beat Fulham earlier in the season.
That brace at Craven Cottage in November means Cunha has three goals in three previous appearances against Fulham and he is more than capable of adding to that tally this midweek.
