Wrexham Double Chance (Win or Draw)

Reason for tip

Although Wrexham have lost two out of their last three games, they are unbeaten at home all season and will be more up for this contest than their last. Birmingham have failed to win four of their last nine away league games and may take a draw given their favourable situation atop League One. While the Blues have won five and drawn two of their last seven, the average league position of their opponents was 16th.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Wrexham have conceded only seven home goals in their last 16 games at STōK Cae Ras. They can hold the Blues in a 1-1 draw with Birmingham having also not conceded many goals on the road this term.

Wrexham seek a Hollywood ending

Wrexham and Birmingham City clash in a highly anticipated League One fixture on Thursday night, with both teams vying for promotion to the Championship. The Blues currently sit top of the pile, two points clear of  Wycombe with a couple of games in hand.

A draw would not be a bad result for Chris Davies’ side, but they will be out to maintain the momentum of a 14-match unbeaten streak that began in November. Wrexham, sitting third in the table, have been formidable at home, remaining unbeaten at STōK Cae Ras this season.

The Red Dragons, backed by Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, are chasing a third consecutive promotion. But they are coming off a poor display away to Shrewsbury, which saw them fall to a second defeat in three games.

Parkinson’s side can put the brakes on the Blues

The previous encounter in September saw Birmingham emerge victorious with a 3-1 win, leaving Wrexham eager for revenge on home turf, and this game promises to be tighter because the stakes are high.

Phil Parkinson’s men, with the home fans behind them, can claim at least a draw in this fixture and may even be able to pull out a win if the Blues are not better than their last performance.

They created very little, despite dominating against Exeter on Saturday and look likely to be without winger Paik Seung-ho again this week. Wrexham’s defence can keep them in the game on Thursday and the hosts are unlikely to play as badly as they did at Shrewsbury in this vital clash. While the Blues have won five and drawn two of their last seven, the average league position of their opponents was 16th.
