Wrexham look the best bet when they host Bolton in League One on Saturday.

They are third in the league with 18 wins, seven draws and seven losses, five places above Bolton, who are eighth with 16 wins, five draws and 11 defeats.

Wrexham’s 2-1 win away to Mansfield on Sunday was their third victory in four League One games. Wrexham have opened the scoring in their last four matches and have won 17 of the 22 games in which they’ve scored first this season (77%).

They were priced at 21/20 to win the game against Mansfield and can justify favouritism again when Bolton make the trip to the Racecourse Ground as Wrexham look to pick themselves up following the disappointment of exiting the Football League Trophy after a penalty shootout defeat at the hands of Peterborough on Wednesday.

Wrexham have been strong defensively at home this season, conceding just 14 goals in 17 League One games – an average of 0.82 goals per game.

They may be able to edge out Bolton, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Twelve of Wrexham’s League One games have been won by a single goal this season, and three of Bolton’s last five league defeats were by a 2-1 scoreline.
