Goals expected in crunch clash

Goals could be on the menu when Wrexham host Bristol Rovers in League One on Friday.

Back over 3.5 goals – 13 of Bristol Rovers’ 42 league matches this season have produced over 3.5 goals and both teams are desperate for the points for very different reasons.

Wrexham are second in the league, 19 places above Bristol Rovers, with the two sides separated by 40 points. Wrexham have won 24 and lost eight of their 42 games this season, while Rovers have won 12.

Wrexham are in good form, with four wins and two draws from their last six League One games. They have been the winners in three consecutive home matches. In contrast, Bristol Rovers are finding life tough, having lost six times in a row. They have failed to win any of their last eight away games.

Wrexham were unable to reward their 11/10 backers in the 0-0 draw with Wigan last weekend. Wrexham, who had won six of their previous eight League One games, failed to get a shot on target.

However, a 3-1 win for Wrexham is an appealing correct-score bet. Bristol Rovers have lost their last three League One away games and have sustained eight two-goal reverses this season.
