Under 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Nine of Wrexham’s previous 12 matches have produced under 2.5 goals and that could be the best bet when they take on Charlton in a cagey contest at the top of League One.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

There is little separating Wrexham and Charlton in the League One standings and that could be apparent when they clash at the Racecourse Ground this weekend. The draw looks likely and 1-1 is the way to go in terms of a correct-score bet.

Wrexham vs Charlton Predictions

  • Nine of Wrexham’s last 12 games have featured under 2.5 goals
  • Charlton’s League One matches have averaged just 2.34 goals per game this term
  • Wrexham have drawn three of their last five matches

Battle for League One top two intensifies

The League One promotion race is in the hands of Wrexham, who could secure their spot in the Championship with a win over Charlton this weekend, provided Wycombe drop points in their game against Leyton Orient.

Monday was a significant day in the race to secure the second promotion spot in League One as Wrexham dug deep to beat Blackpool 2-1 and Wycombe slipped to a 4-0 defeat.

But that heavy defeat for the Chairboys came against Charlton, who are also in the mix to make the top two.

Indeed, a win for Charlton away to Wrexham on Saturday would put them just one point behind the Welsh club and blow open the race for second.

Close contest expected between promotion rivals

With so much riding on this game, it is hard to settle on a winner and it could boil down to a moment of individual quality.

A cagey game is expected and under 2.5 goals could be the way to go.

Charlton were in the goals against Wycombe but their league fixtures this season have averaged just 2.34 goals per game, while Wrexham’s average stands at 2.18 across the season and just two in their last eight matches.

It is hard to separate these sides and 1-1 is the way to go in terms of a correct-score wager.
