Kone could shine again

One of the EFL’s stories of the season is Wycombe striker Richard Kone, who was playing for Athletic Newham in the Essex Senior League a little over a year ago.

He has netted 13 times in the league this season and has become one of the most highly-touted young players in English football as a result.

Kone netted at the weekend against Blackpool but Wycombe were reduced to ten men for much of their game against Blackpool and eventually succumbed to a late equaliser.

Birmingham’s win over Wigan saw them leapfrog Wanderers to the top of the table and now Wycombe face a tough challenge against a Huddersfield team who are unbeaten in their last 14 games.

The Terriers are firmly in the promotion race despite a 0-0 draw with Rotherham and this looks set to be an ultra-competitive affair.
