AC Horsens vs FC Nordsjaelland Predictions

Five points and four positions separate these two clubs last season, with Horsens ending the campaign in tenth spot and Nordsjaelland finishing in sixth. The visitors missed out on the European places last time out and qualifying for the Europa League will be their minimum aim for the 2019/20 campaign, while Horsens could push for a top-six finish but only if they fix a leaky defence with conceded the joint-most amount of goals last season.

Pre-season hasn’t exactly gone to plan for Horsens with two draws and two heavy defeats making up their four friendly results, while Nordsjealland lost two of their four matches, picked up one draw, and managed to beat Utrecht’s reserves 4-2. Both clubs will be hoping for a positive start to the new season and going by their pre-season results and the overall quality of each squad you’d fancy the visitors to collect all three points this weekend.

The recent head to head record between the pair and their form and performances heading into the opening game of the season, suggests that over 2.5 goals will be produced on Sunday and that Nordsjaelland are best placed to get off to a winning start. Five of the last six meetings between these two clubs have featured over 2.5 goals, and Nordsjaelland have only lost one of their last nineteen matches against Horsens. Two of Horsens’ last three and five of Nordsjaelland’s last six matches have featured over 2.5 goals. Horsens are without a win in their last five matches and Nordsjaelland are unbeaten in their last three away games, which is why we’re backing a 3-1 win for the visitors on Sunday.

Andreas Skov Olsen scored an impressive 22 league goals for Nordsjaelland last season and teammate Godsway Donyoh chipped in with 10, while Horsens lacked a natural goalscorer last season and will be hoping that new addition, form Randers striker, Nicolai Brock-Madsen can provide the goals that push his team towards a top-half finish. We’re confident that over 2.5 goals will be scored on Sunday and have predicted a 3-1 final scoreline in favour of Nordsjaelland. The visitors performed better in pre-season, finished above their hosts last time out, and have only lost one of their last nineteen matches against this particular opponent.
