AFC Bournemouth vs Wolverhampton Predictions
- Bournemouth have lost 16-0 across their last three league games
- Wolves have won three of their last four Premier League meetings with Bournemouth
- Scott Parker has one of the worst home records of any Premier League managers
Horror start for Cherries
Bournemouth have had a disappointing start to the season under new manager Andoni Iraola but their schedule explains at least in part their struggles. The Cherries have faced arguably the toughest schedule of any side in the top flight after eight games, taking on five of last year’s top nine clubs, Chelsea and Europa Conference League winners West Ham.
Iraola has been brought in to play a more intense style of football than the hosts did last season and sometimes drastic shifts in a team’s playing style can take time to get used to.
However the 3-0 loss at Everton last time out was poor and the Cherries face a relegation battle if they don’t improve upon that showing.
Despite that, this is a talented squad and they are better than they have shown, with patience it is possible that they turn things around and the international break could have come at just the right time.
Wolves turning things around
Wolves endured a similarly miserable start to the season but some big results in recent weeks have improved their outlook. Gary O’Neill’s side pulled off the biggest shock of the campaign so far in getting the better of Manchester City 2-1 before drawing 1-1 with rivals Aston Villa.
Pedro Neto has been key to their success this season, registering five assists and scoring once. His performances will have caught the eye of some of the bigger Premier League clubs, but Wolves are set to have his services at least until January.
The visitors do need to tighten up defensively however, they have conceded 14 times this season, only the bottom four sides have allowed more goals.
High-scoring affair likely
With both of these teams suffering from leaky defences, goals seems the way to go in this clash. Both teams have seen over 2.5 goals in five of their last seven games and the same is fancied here.
With both sides winning just two of their combined 16 matches it may to side with a stalemate so a 2-2 draw is the correct score pick in this clash.
Dominic Solanke has been Bournemouth’s primary route to goal this season, netting three times, and he can get on the scoresheet once again in this matchup.
