Arsenal to Win

Reason for tip

Arsenal have won their last two home meetings with Chelsea by an 8-1 aggregate scoreline and have eight wins from 13 home league games this season, while Chelsea have lost four of their last five top-flight away days.

Arsenal 2-1

Reason for tip

Arsenal have conceded in their last four Premier League home games and have shipped exactly once in three of those, including a 2-1 triumph over Spurs. Chelsea have scored exactly one in three of their last four league away games and lost 2-1 at Villa Park in their last league trip.

Arsenal vs Chelsea Predictions

  • Arsenal have won their last two home meetings with Chelsea by a 8-1 aggregate scoreline.
  • Chelsea have lost four of their last five league away games.
  • Arsenal have won eight of their 13 Premier League home games this season.

Gunners face top-four battle

Two points from their last three games has effectively ended Arsenal’s slim chances of catching champions-elect Liverpool, but the Gunners still have a job to do in the top-four battle and they can boost those prospects with a win over Chelsea on Sunday.

The Gunners may have only won one of their last five in all competitions, but they have won eight of their 13 Premier League home games this season and can take advantage of Chelsea’s poor away record.

Blues struggling on their travels

The Blues are on a four-match winning streak following their victory over Copenhagen on Thursday, but they are winless in six league away days and have lost four of those.

Their win in the Danish capital last week was their first away win in any competition since before Christmas, and recent trips to the Emirates have not been fruitful.

Hosts can claim the spoils

They lost 5-0 here last season and 3-1 the season before and, while a similar result may be unlikely, Mikel Arteta’s side are justified favourites to inflict another defeat on Enzo Maresca’s struggling travellers.

Backing a home win appeals, but Arsenal have conceded in each of their last four home league games and are unlikely to shut Chelsea out. They have conceded exactly once in three of these, including a 2-1 win over another London side in Tottenham, while Chelsea have scored exactly once in three of their last four league away days, making a 2-1 correct score prediction appealing.
