Barcelona slipped to a surprise 1-0 defeat in the Champions League in midweek as they were downed by Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk in Hamburg.

The Catalan giants will be keen to bounce back when Alaves visit their temporary Estadio Olímpico home, but the visitors may be able to make this a test for Barca as they have just two defeats in their last seven.

They have also conceded 12 goals in as many La Liga outings and Alaves have scored in their last three trips, after failing to score in their first three road league games, so taking a chance on the visitors to score in defeat appeals.

A 2-1 victory for Barcelona is the correct score prediction as each of the hosts’ last six wins have all been by one-goal margins and their form has perhaps dipped a little after a strong start to the season, while Alaves have only conceded more than twice in one game this season – and that was a 4-3 win over Sevilla – so the visitors can keep this game close.
