Barca ready to kick on

It had been a long time coming, but Barcelona finally ended a run of one win in eight La Liga outings by thrashing Valencia 7-1 last weekend.

That, coupled with a 2-2 draw against Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League in midweek, means the Camp Nou side are now unbeaten in eight outings, winning six times.

There are also goals when they are in action too, given five of their last half a dozen matches have featured 3+ strikes, with their 59 goals across 21 league games comfortably the most in the Spanish top flight.

Alaves struggle on the road

That is bad news for opponents Alaves, who have conceded 22 goals in 11 away trips in the league this season, with seven of those matches ending defeat.

In fact, six successive away games across all competitions have featured 3+ strikes, with Eduardo Coudet’s side actually scoring themselves in all bar one of those fixtures.

They will therefore provide a stern test for Barcelona, but it is ominous that the visitors have now managed only one victory across their last ten fixtures at all venues.
