Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Chelsea have scored 27 goals and conceded 11 across all competitions this season and have conceded four in their last two games. Nottingham Forest have scored in six of their seven matches this term and have found the net in their last four meetings with Chelsea.

Chelsea 4-2

Reason for tip

Chelsea won the most recent meeting between these sides 3-2 in May and they have won their last five matches in all competitions. The last two of these have ended in 4-2 victories and Nottingham Forest scored twice in their last away game against Brighton.

Nicolas Jackson To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Only Erling Haaland (6.2) has generated more expected goals than Nicolas Jackson (4.7) this season and the Senegal international has scored four times in his last five Premier League outings.

Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest Predictions

  • Chelsea have scored 27 goals and conceded 11 in all competitions this season.
  • Nottingham Forest have scored in six of their seven outings this term.
  • Nicolas Jackson has scored four goals in his last five matches.

High-scoring Blues hit their stride

Chelsea played out their second successive 4-2 victory in midweek and, after five wins in a row in all competitions, the Blues could be on for a similar victory when they host Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

That win over Gent followed the Cole Palmer masterclass against Brighton last weekend to continue a theme of intensely high-scoring games for Enzo Maresca’s side this season. 38 goals have been scored across their ten competitive games, with 27 scored and 11 conceded.

Forest enjoy optimistic start to the season

Nottingham Forest may be able to take advantage of the hosts’ lacklustre defensive form after enjoying a relatively promising start to the season, with the Tricky Trees only losing two of seven games and regularly finding the back of the net.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side failed to score for the first time this season in their defeat to Fulham last weekend and they have scored in four successive meetings with Chelsea.

Jackson to strike at Stamford Bridge

This includes a 3-2 win for the Blues in their last meeting in May, and I expect a similar result on Sunday. Neither side are looking solid at the back, so both teams to score is a good bet and a third 4-2 win in a row is a long-odds option for correct score punters.

Cole Palmer may be justifiably taking the plaudits, but Nicolas Jackson offers slightly more value in the anytime goalscorer market. Only Erling Haaland (6.2) has generated more expected goals than Jackson (4.7) this season and the Senegal international has scored four times in his last five appearances, chipping in with a further three assists.
