Sunday’s Serie A clash between Fiorentina and Juventus at the Stadio Artemio Franchi is unlikely to produce many goals. Seven of the last eight meetings between these two sides have produced under 2.5 goals and that is the recommendation here.

Juventus are four places above Fiorentina in the table, with the two sides separated by seven points. The hosts are eighth with 13 wins, six draws and nine losses, while Juventus are fourth with 13 wins, 13 draws and just two defeats.

Fiorentina are struggling domestically, with four defeats in their last five Serie A games, but they have been winners in three of their last four home matches. Juventus have won three of the last four league meetings with Fiorentina but are on a run of two straight away successes and were thumped 4-0 by Atalanta last time out which has left manager Thiago Motta under intense pressure.

Fiorentina have conceded in 12 of their last 14 Serie A games, but they kept a clean sheet last month against leaders Inter, when they won 3-0. Juventus haven’t shipped a goal in three of the last four meetings with Fiorentina and have been impressive defensively this season, conceding an average of just 0.89 goals per game, which made the Atalanta collapse all the more confusing.

Fiorentina have been winners in three of their last four home games and, with eight of their 13 victories this season coming by one goal, a narrow 1-0 win for the hosts looks a decent correct-score option.
