      Fulham vs Watford Predictions

After losing their opening two games of the season, Fulham had begun to put together a decent looking run of form, beating Burnley, Exeter City, and drawing away to Brighton. That short unbeaten run came to an end last weekend, although it wasn’t exactly an unexpected loss that they incurred.

Reigning Premier League champions Manchester City hosted them at the Etihad, and they were in complete control throughout as they brushed The Cottagers aside with a 3-0 victory. The newly promoted outfit won’t take much away from the game, with it simply reinforcing the huge gap in quality between the sides. Now, they will focus on getting a result against a team closer to their own skillset.

Watford’s squad strength may look similar to Fulham’s on paper, but The Hornets have enjoyed an incredible start to the Premier League season. They won each of their opening four matches in the league, supplementing that with a League Cup victory over Reading too. Unfortunately for them, that run came to an end at the hands of the other Manchester based club last weekend.

Manchester United, fresh from their resurgence against Burnley before the international break, managed to score two goals in four first half minutes to put them in control at Vicarage Road. To Watford’s credit, they didn’t give up, pulling one back through Andre Gray and making a good effort at getting back on level terms throughout the second half.

This defeat aside, nobody can fault the work that Javi Gracia is doing at Watford. He saved them from a free fall down the Premier League table last season, and the way he’s started this campaign is exceptional. He could very well buck the long standing trend of Watford managers only lasting one full season.

Both of these sides have seen their fair share of goals this season. Both Watford and Fulham have seen four of their five league games this season end with at least three goals, and between them seven of their ten combined matches have seen both teams find the net.

Fulham have seen a huge 3.8 goals per game on average since their return to the top flight, and their expected goals (xG) for and against tallies up to a league high 18.72. For this reason, backing Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams to Score looks a great value bet here, along with an high scoring 2-2 correct score predictions.

We’re also backing Fulham’s star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic to find the net. The Serbian forward has rejuvenated his career at Craven Cottage, scoring four Premier League goals already this season. He has netted in three of his last four league appearances, so backing him for our anytime goalscorer predictions looks a good choice.
