Fulham to Win

Reason for tip

Fulham were unfortunate not to get something from their opening game at Manchester United and after a home win against Leicester, they can build on that by seeing off the Hammers, who they beat 5-0 at the Craven Cottage last season.

Fulham 2-1

Reason for tip

West Ham kept a clean sheet at Crystal Palace after struggling defensively on the road last term, but their road games tend to be high-scoring and there looks a strong chance there will be at least three goals here, so go for a 2-1 home win.

Rodrigo Muniz To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz is yet to find the net this season but he has already had 11 goal attempts in three games so this could be the day the Brazilian breaks his duck for the campaign.

Fulham vs West Ham United Predictions

  • Eight of West Ham’s last ten away league games have featured at least three goals.
  • The Hammers conceded at least three times in nine of their 19 away league outings last term.
  • Fulham have been losing at half-time in just one of their last ten league matches.

Cottagers heading in right direction

Fulham would have considered themselves unfortunate to lose their opening game of the season at Manchester United, but Marco Silva’s boys have steadied the ship since and will be confident they can see off West Ham at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

A late goal condemned them to defeat at Old Trafford, but a win over promoted Leicester, in which new signing from Arsenal, Emile Smith Rowe, got off the mark, was a welcome boost and they may not be the last team to leave Ipswich with a point this season.

They welcome the Hammers on the banks of the Thames after seeing them off 5-0 last season, so that will give the home team a boost.

While West Ham won 2-0 across the capital at Crystal Palace in their only away game of the new  campaign, they still have to deal with being beaten at home by Aston Villa and then being outclassed by champions Manchester City before the international break.

Hammers still adjusting to life under Lopetegui

Palace were still finding their feet after a series of summer departures in their second game of the season and this looks a lot tougher for the Hammers as they make adjustments under new boss Julen Lopetegui.

The Spaniard will be mindful that only relegated Luton and Sheffield United conceded more goals on the road than West Ham, even though his attacking options look bright.

With Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen looking lively and former Dortmund striker Niclas Fullkrug offering good forward options, there is a strong chance they will do better than on their last trip to Craven Cottage and can find the net, but it will take more than one trip to Selhurst Park to convince that they have turned the corner defensively so they could fall to a 2-1 defeat.

Muniz breakthrough may not be far away

Those looking for a goalscorer bet should not be put off from backing Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz, even though he has not broken his duck yet this season.

The Brazilian has had 11 attempts at goal so far, including seven in the win over the Foxes, and he was the Cottagers’ top goalscorer with nine last season, even though he did not establish himself as a regular starter than after the turn of the year.

He had three shots on target in their 2-0 win at the London Stadium last season and can be a thorn in the side of the Hammers again on Saturday.
