Getafe vs Real Madrid Predictions
They make the short trip to local rivals Getafe buoyed by their excellent 3-0 win against Wolfsburg in the Champions League on Tuesday so should come into the game full of confidence. Although their home record is far better than their away record this term, they usually enjoy life at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez and their fans always make up a substantial portion of the crowd here turning it into a virtual home game.
Los Blancos have won by 3 or more goals in all of their last 6 matches against Getafe and are playing as well as they have done all season right now. They have won their last 6 league games and have been impressive in their most recent victories over Sevilla, Barcelona and Eibar. Captain Sergio Ramos returns from a ban to bolster their defence and James Rodriguez could also feature in a more attacking line-up than we have seen in recent weeks from Zidane’s men.
There is nothing about Getafe’s current form that suggests they will cause an upset here but they do have a new manager in the shape of the relatively inexperienced Juan Esnáider. They have only taken 2 points from their last 12 matches to plummet down the table and into the relegation zone and with only 6 games to play their top flight future is looking bleak. The Madrid minnows have only scored 2 goals in their last 10 games, conceding 24.
Therefore everything points to a relatively comfortable afternoon for the visitors, who are now only 4 points behind Barcelona and once again have a glimmer of hope in La Liga’s title race. They will be keen to put some pressure on the Catalans who play the following day so backing Real Madrid -1 Goal Handicap at 7/10 looks a sensible idea here.
