Liverpool vs Napoli Predictions
- Napoli have won their last 13 games
- The Partenopei have won all five group games, including a 4-1 win over Liverpool
- The hosts have lost to Leeds and Forest in their last three
- The visitors have scored 20 goals across five matchdays in this competition
Difficult milestone match for Klopp
Jurgen Klopp is set to take charge of his 100th Champions League game as a manager this week, the first German boss to achieve that feat. However, off the back of a home defeat to Leeds at the weekend, this could be a difficult evening for the Liverpool boss.
They face a red-hot Napoli side on Tuesday night, with the visitors leading the way both in Serie A and in Group A. They’re in outstanding form, with another win not out of their reach despite Liverpool heading in as favourites with the bookies.
Issues for Reds
The hosts may be favourites, but it’s hard to make much of a case for it. The Reds lost 4-1 in the reverse fixture and they sit closer to the relegation zone than the top of the Premier League after their weekend defeat.
While the hosts struggle, Napoli are breaking records. The Partenopei have scored more goals than any other team through the first five matchdays in this season’s Champions League, averaging four goals per match.
While the visitors are already through and all but guaranteed top spot, it’s hard to see them sacrificing some incredible momentum by completely changing up their side for this trip, so the Reds could struggle again.
Partenopei are great value
Sitting a shade over 3/1 at the time of writing, Napoli look brilliantly priced for a victory this week. They’re on a 13-game winning run, including five wins from five in the Champions League this season.
The Reds have lost to Nottingham Forest and Leeds in their last two and their heavy loss to the Partenopei is hard to forget. The visitors are blazing a trail in Europe this term while the other Serie A sides struggle to keep up, so back them to claim three points in a 2-1 victory at Anfield.
The visitors are likely to make a couple of tweaks, including a start for Giacomo Raspadori. He has been directly involved in six goals in four games for Napoli in the Champions League this season, scoring four times. Back him to follow that up with a goal on Tuesday night.
