MK Dons vs Liverpool Predictions
MK Dons face the unenviable task of hosting Liverpool in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, and while they’re not expected to get anything other than a learning experience from the clash, it might not be quite as one-sided as you’d expect.
MK Dons have had a hit and miss start to life back in League One, winning four and losing five to put themselves in a rather anonymous 15th position. However, anything that doesn’t result in them being relegated will be a positive for The Dons.
However, back to back 1-0 losses at home to Ipswich and Southend has taken all the wind out of their sails, and they’re unlikely to expect anything other than defeat on Wednesday.
That being said, Klopp is almost certain to field a heavily rotated lineup at the Stadium mk. Early reports suggest there could be up to nine changes for The Reds, and the German manager doesn’t have a great recent record in the Carabao Cup.
They have lost their last four League Cup games and scored just one goal, and with his lethal attacking triumvirate likely to be rested, we’re not expecting a thrashing here.
In fact, just two of Klopp’s 13 Carabao Cup games have seen over 3.5 goals, and with only four of MK Dons’ 12 competitive games this season seeing four or more goals, we think backing Under 3.5 Goals is the way to go.
It’s still worth noting that we expect Liverpool to win against a League One side that have lost half of their last 10 competitive games, but goals are unlikely to be the order of the day. Considering MK Dons haven’t scored in their last 2 matches, backing a comfortable 2-0 win for the visitors looks like the best option.
