Paris Saint Germain vs Leicester Predictions

For Paris Saint Germain, this will be their last pre-season friendly before returning to France to begin their domestic season, which starts with a French Super Cup match against Lyon next weekend.

They have already beaten both Inter Milan and Real Madrid, and with these victories a new attacking setup has emerged. Of the six goals they have scored in these two matches, five of them have been netted by full backs. Serge Aurier grabbed a goal either side of Layvin Kurzawa against Inter Milan against Inter Milan, and then new right back Thomas Meunier bagged a brace against Real Madrid on Thursday. Who needs Zlatan Ibrahimovic?

In all honesty though, the attacking play from main striker Edinson Cavani has been poor, and Hatem Ben Arfa has failed to make an impact in that position over their two International Champions Cup games too. I would expect them to be in the market for another top quality striker before the summer transfer window closes.

These victories have taken their unbeaten streak to 11 matches though, with ten of them being wins and this run encompassing a Ligue 1 triumph, a Coupe de France win, and a Coupe de la Ligue victory.

Leicester will be facing a task unlike any other on Sunday. They made their International Champions Cup debut with a 1-1 draw against Celtic, with them winning on penalties against the Scottish Champions.

This took their own unbeaten streak to a huge 15 matches, with ten of them being victories and it concluding in the most remarkable Premier League win in history. They begin the defence of their Premier League title in the middle of August, but before that they have ICC games against PSG and Barcelona to come and a Community Shield match against Manchester United.

Paris Saint Germain seem determined to actually win the International Champions Cup this summer, and it’s showed in two impressive performances against Inter Milan and Real Madrid. I think they’ll get a win again on Sunday, and considering eight of their last nine matches have seen at least three goals scored I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a high scoring match.

My prediction, therefore, is for a high scoring PSG win, and odds of 6/4 for a Paris Saint Germain Win and Over 2.5 Goals look excellent value to me. I’m going for a 3rd consecutive 3-1 victory for the French giants for my correct score prediction as well.
