Philadelphia Union vs New England Revolution Predictions
Philadelphia Union kicked their season off with a tough match at one of the favourites for the MLS Supporters Shield, and came away from FC Dallas with a somewhat expected 2-0 defeat under their belts.
They managed to get one over away to Columbus Crew last Sunday though thanks to a brace from Chris Pontius, and they will now be looking forward to playing in front of their own supporters for the first time this season.
New England Revolution couldn’t have had two more different games for their opening two matches. They opened the season with a thrilling 3-3 draw at Houston Dynamo, with the visitors sealing a point with a dramatic 93rd minute equaliser. They followed this up with a drab goalless draw at home to DC United last week though, leaving everyone wondering what to expect next from them.
Revolution’s defence is definitely below par when they play on the road, and that places a lot of pressure on their attacking players to perform. Fortunately they step up more often than not, hence why they have netted 11 goals in their last six away games. Unfortunately, they have conceded 13 at the other end, which has resulted in five of these six games having both teams on the scoresheet.
Philadelphia Union have seen both teams find the net in five of their last seven matches as well, so odds of 4/5 for Both Teams to Score look good to me. I’m going for a home win though, and odds of 17/2 for a 2-1 correct score prediction look good to me.
