Sunderland vs Leicester Predictions
There is no doubt that Sunderland are improving under Sam Allardyce, but is it too little too late for the Premier League relegation candidates. They still can’t see to win matches, as illustrated by the fact that only one of their last ten outings has seen them take all three points.
They have managed to draw each of their last four games though, and their goalless draw last weekend against West Brom saw them pick up a very rare clean sheet.
They are still down in 18th position though, with Norwich’s win last weekend putting Sunderland three points adrift of safety six seven games remaining. Sunderland desperately need victories if they are going to remain in the top flight, but I don’t think that’s something they can achieve on Sunday.
Sunderland might not be the worst attacking side in the Premier League, but I think they’ll really struggle to get past the determined and organised new-look backline of Leicester. The visitors have kept four clean sheets on the bounce in the Premier League and have allowed a single goal to settle the three points for them.
Five of their last six games have ended in victory for the Premier League leaders, and each of the victories has been by a 1-0 scoreline. This has taken them seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table, and with each passing week the title edges closer to the King Power Stadium.
It’s not just at home that they succeed either. Away from home they hold the best record in the league and have won five of their last seven Premier League matches. This includes wins at Spurs and Manchester City, so the Stadium of Light shouldn’t prove too much of a hurdle for them.
Odds of 11/10 for a Leicester Win look incredible value as well considering their form, and I’m backing that alongside yet another 1-0 win for the visitors at 13/2.
