Swansea City vs Manchester City Predictions
- City went 2-0 down here in 2019 before coming back to win
- Swansea have won eight of their last 10 games
- City have won 14 straight matches
City need focus in Swansea
Everything is going perfectly for Pep Guardiola and co. following their victory at Liverpool on Sunday. However, cup ties against EFL sides haven’t always gone to plan for the Citizens – like their Fifth Round exit to Wigan.
The Premier League leaders have had some notable struggles in the cups, as they had to come from behind at Cheltenham in the last round. One of the most notable was their 2019 visit to Swansea, in which City went 2-0 down before launching a late turnaround.
City have also conceded to Bournemouth in domestic cup action this season, so they are vulnerable defensively despite being heavy favourites. Their settled centre-half partnership of Ruben Dias and John Stones should be rested, allowing in-form Swansea to strike.
The hosts are tearing up their own league, winning eight of their last 10 games. The Swans have scored in all but one of their FA Cup home games since 2007, while City’s habit of faltering defensively in these ties puts to goals here.
We’re backing City to win and both teams to score, following the visitors 14-game winning run. On top of that we see City progressing with a 3-1 victory, while we’re backing Ferran Torres as our anytime goalscorer prediction.
The forward should get minutes here, while his best displays have come away from the league, as he’s scored six times in eight games in other competitions.
