Draw

Reason for tip

Tottenham have won all but one of their seven home matches this season while Villa have come out on top in five of their six on the road. The strong form of both sides could see the two cancel each other out and they may both be happy to settle for a point.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Two of Tottenham’s last three home matches have seen both teams score while the same is true for each of Villa’s last three on the road. A tight encounter is expected and a 1-1 draw in North London shows a lot of promise.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa Predictions

  • Tottenham have won all but one of their seven home matches this season
  • Aston Villa are unbeaten on the road this season in all competitions
  • The Villans came away with all three points in this meeting last season, winning 2-1

In-form sides could cancel each other out in Super Sunday meeting

Both Tottenham and Aston Villa have been in strong form over the course of recent weeks and this should make for a tense and close affair when the two clubs go head-to-head at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

Spurs have won eight of their last 10 matches in all competitions, including an impressive 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the Carabao Cup in midweek, and Ange Postecoglou’s men have also won six of their seven home fixtures this season – with the only defeat coming in the North London derby against Arsenal.

The Villans meanwhile have lost just one of their 12 matches across league, cup and continental obligations and Unai Emery’s side have also claimed victories in five of their six away fixtures this season – only failing to achieve victory in a 1-1 draw at Ipswich at the end of September.

This could well go down to the wire and there may be very little to separate the two come the full time whistle. The form of the two clubs could see them settle for a point a piece but they should both still find the net and so our prediction is a 1-1 draw.

Rogers can continue purple patch on the road

Much has been said about the attacking talents of Ollie Watkins and Jhon Duran this season for Aston Villa but one man who could hurt the Tottenham defence should he be left under the radar is creative midfielder Morgan Rogers.

The former Middlesbrough man has already matched his Premier League goal contributions from last season (four) and has netted in each of his last two appearances on the road for the Villans – in the draw with Ipswich and the 3-1 over Fulham.

His driving runs and quick feet make him a nightmare for opposition defences and, should Spurs focus on silencing Watkins or Duran, it may leave Rogers with the space required to find the net.
