Draw 2-2

Reason for tip

Both of these teams are hard to pin down and with three of Tottenham’s last six games finishing as draws, the stalemate could be the way to go with 2-2 a decent pick in the correct score betting.

Spurs looking to build on Saints thrashing

Sunday was a success for both Tottenham and Manchester United, who recorded significant wins in the Premier League, and they could play out a high-octane game in the EFL Cup quarter-finals on Thursday.

Spurs breezed to a 5-0 win over struggling Southampton at St Mary’s last time out, scoring four goals in the opening 25 minutes.

Manchester United, meanwhile, left it late to win an otherwise flat Manchester derby, scoring in the 88th and 90th minutes to beat Manchester City 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

Amad Diallo in particular shone for the Red Devils, who still have plenty of work to do under Ruben Amorim, although the goals are starting to flow.

Amorim’s United can contribute to high-scoring clash

Since Amorim’s arrival, United won a five-goal thriller with Bodo/Glimt, thrashed Everton 4-0 and lost 3-2 to Nottingham Forest.

It is no secret that Tottenham have blown hot and cold this term and that has made them one of the most entertaining teams in the division.

Their 16 league games have produced 55 goals – an average of 3.4 goals per game – and the all-or-nothing nature of a cup quarter-final suggests this game will be high-scoring.

Over 3.5 goals is the way to go with neither team particularly trustworthy in the match result market and 2-2 makes an appeal in the correct score betting.
