Tottenham Hotspur and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Tottenham suffered a disappointing defeat in the last round of fixtures and have been inconsistent, but their struggles have largely come on the road and they have three wins in four games at home. Spurs are facing a West Ham side who have three defeats and just one win in their last six so they should be able to make the most of home advantage, but the visitors have only failed to score in one of their nine games across all comps and can strike in defeat.

Tottenham Hotspur 2-1

Reason for tip

We’re backing Spurs to win & BTTS, and a 2-1 home win looks a reasonable correct score play as Tottenham score on average exactly two goals per-game in the league and the Hammers have scored exactly once in each of their last three trips.

James Maddison To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

James Maddison only managed four goals in 28 league games last season but already has two to his name this season after seven games for Spurs, and both of those efforts have come in his last three starts.

Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United Predictions

  • Tottenham have three wins in four games at home.
  • West Ham have scored in eight of their nine games and are yet to draw a blank away.
  • James Maddison has two goals in his last three starts.

Spurs in need of a response

Tottenham blew a two-goal lead as they slipped to a 3-2 defeat at Brighton last time out and now face a potentially tricky home game against West Ham in Saturday’s early kick off.

The international break probably came at the wrong time for Spurs as they will have been eager to bounce back after that incredibly disappointing result, while the extra week off won’t have been welcomed by the Hammers either after they ended a five-game winless run with a 4-1 victory over Ipswich.

Home advantage key for Tottenham

Ange Postecoglou has been unable to keep Tottenham performing consistently this season and some good displays have been followed by poor ones. The North Londoners overcame Manchester United 3-0 in their last Premier League game before the defeat to Brighton, while a 4-0 win over Everton was followed up with a 2-1 defeat at Newcastle, albeit in a game where they were unfortunate to come away with nothing.

However, most of their struggles have come on the road and they’ve won three of their four home games in all competitions, losing only to rivals Arsenal, and they are faxing a Hammers side who arrive in mixed form with three losses in their last six.

West Ham are unbeaten on their travels in the league (W1, D2) but this is their toughest trip so far, and a home win looks the more likely outcome.

The standout bet looks to be backing a Spurs win and both teams to score as the Hammers have scored in eight of their nine games across all competitions and they have scored in all of their away games, while Tottenham have gone two games without keeping a shut-out.

Maddison a goal contender

A 2-1 win for the hosts is the correct score prediction as Tottenham are scoring on average exactly two goals per-game in the Premier League, while West Ham have scored exactly once in each of their last three trips.

As a bit of an outside option, James Maddison appeals as a potential scorer as he comes into the game in good form. Maddison only managed four goals in 28 league games last season but already has two to his name this season, and both of those efforts have come in his last three starts.
