Watford vs Manchester City Predictions
- Manchester City have won each of their last six games.
- City have managed just two clean sheets in their last 10 games.
- Watford have scored in each of their last three games and both teams to score has landed in seven of their last 10 games.
- Raheem Sterling has two goals and an assist in his last four games.
City bid to continue winning streak
Manchester City have won their last six games across all competitions and can continue that hot streak when they head to Watford on Saturday.
The Hornets were unlucky to lose 2-1 at home to Chelsea in midweek as their efforts came to nothing against the league leaders. That performance, and the fact they ended up with nothing to show from it, may have taken a bit of energy out of the team and that will almost certainly work against them when in-form City visit Vicarage Road.
Watford could be good for a goal
While I am expecting a City win here, Watford may well be able to make a game of it and could get on the scoresheet themselves.
A City win with both teams to score is my main bet as the visitors have conceded in each of their last three games and have just two clean sheets in their last 10 games overall.
Claudio Ranieri’s men have also raised their game against the big teams this season and have registered a 4-1 win over Manchester United. The Hornets scored against Chelsea and created a few chances in defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal, and with City’s defence looking a little suspect of late we may well see both goalkeepers beaten in the late Premier League kick off on Saturday.
Watford might be able to get a goal but I’m still expecting a fairly comfortable win for Pep Guardiola’s men and a 3-1 away win has a chance in the correct score market.
Sterling hitting form
Raheem Sterling found himself struggling for game time earlier in the season but has started the last four games for the champions and has managed to impress with two goals and an assist during that run.
With Jack Grealish and Phil Foden rated as questionable, despite being named among the substitutes in the 2-1 midweek win at Aston Villa, Sterling should start on Saturday and looks a reasonable option for an anytime goal.
Watford predicted lineup: Bachman, Femenia, Troost-Ekong, Cathcart, Rose, Dennis, Cleverley, Louza, Sissoko, Pedro, King
Manchester City predicted lineup: Ederson, Cancelo, Laporte, Dias, Walker, Silva, Rodri, Gundogan, Sterling, Mahrez, Jesus
- Both teams have scored in Watford’s last three Premier League games
- Six of the last seven Premier League head-to-heads have gone over 3.5 goals
