West Ham United vs Arsenal Predictions
- Arsenal won 6-0 when these sides last met in February.
- The Gunners have scored eight goals and conceded once in their last two games.
- West Ham’s last five losses have been by more than one goal.
Resurgent Arsenal head to Hammers
The late Premier League game on Saturday is an all-London affair as Arsenal make the short trip to West Ham.
The Gunners, buoyed by the return of Martin Odegaard from injury, have rediscovered their form over the last week or so and they come into the game after thrashing Sporting 5-1 in Portugal in midweek.
West Ham are also coming into the game on the back of a positive result after winning 2-0 at Newcastle on Monday, but their home form has been patchy and they may struggle to cope with a visiting Arsenal side who look to be clicking into gear.
Gunners can win with room to spare
Arsenal claimed a 6-0 victory when they visited this ground in February last season in the most recent meeting between these two London rivals. They may not claim such a resounding win on Saturday, but they can still win with some room to spare.
Mikel Arteta’s men overcame Nottingham Forest 3-0 in the last round of Premier League games and prior to that Forest had only conceded 10 goals in 11 league games, and they followed that up with an empathic win in Lisbon.
West Ham have lost six games in total this term and when they do lose they tend to suffer, with five of those losses coming by more than one goal, so Arsenal may be able to cover a -1 handicap at the London Stadium.
Hammers can still get on the scoresheet
I’m backing Arsenal to win fairly comfortably but the Hammers can at least grab a consolation effort. A 3-1 away win is the correct score pick as Arsenal have managed just one clean sheet in their last five games and West Ham have hit a respectable eight goals in six home games, so they can at least strike in defeat.
There are a few scoring contenders in the Arsenal team and Bukayo Saka looks a solid option. The England international has registered a goal and an assist in each of his last two games and could be the danger man once again for the North Londoners on Saturday.
