Spurs seeking a response
Tottenham saw their unbeaten start to the season ended by Chelsea on Monday and they will be looking to bounce back at Wolves on Saturday in the early Premier League kick off.
The hosts became the first team to lose to Sheffield United in their last outing as a controversial late penalty saw them denied a share of the spoils – and they may feel they have a point to prove against the high-flying North Londoners as well.
Tottenham were reduced to nine men in the 4-1 home defeat to Chelsea and will be without suspended duo Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie for Saturday’s game. Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou also faces a few further injury issues as both James Maddison and Micky van de Ven were forced off against Chelsea, joining a long list of absentees.
Both teams capable of scoring
Tottenham were flying before the defeat to Chelsea and if they hadn’t been hit with so many selection issues ahead of Saturday’s game and away win might look the best option, but instead both teams to score is probably the best starting point.
Wolves have been excellent at Molineux in recent weeks and they’re unbeaten in their last three games here – and all of those games were against teams currently in the top six.
Spurs have scored in all of their games this season and Wolves haven’t drawn a blank since the opening round of league games, with both teams scoring in each of the hosts’ last nine.
Spoils could be shared
Wolves have drawn their last two home matches and are averaging a point per-game in front of their own fans. With Tottenham looking stretched for this trip, there is a chance these two sides may cancel each other out and a 2-2 draw is the correct score prediction. Spurs have drawn twice this season and both of those finished 2-2, while all three of Wolves’ stalemates have been score draws and their most recent draw was 2-2.
Son Heung-min saw a goal ruled out against Chelsea and can get back among the goals on Saturday. The South Korean had scored in three consecutive games for club and country before that game against the Blues, and has eight goals in 11 league appearances this term.
